Climate Neutral Group
Climate Neutral Group (CNG) wants a climate neutral world; their ambition is to score 100% when it comes to creating this world. CNG helps organizations to get insight in their CO2 emissions, points out where reduction is possible and creates possibilities to compensate for the emissions. This can be done by investing in sustainable energy projects or sustainable forest projects in developing countries.
Compensating in the Third World
CNG invests in green projects to compensate the CO2-emissions. Durable energy projects prevent the emission of greenhouse gases. Windmill parks, biogas installations and hydro-electric power stations are examples of success durable projects. Another way is compensate CO2-emissions is to invest money in durable forest projects, like planting new trees and taking care and protecting the forests we already have. CNG invests mainly in Third World countries, which means the investments also benefit the local communities.
Examples
Examples of congresses that were made climate neutral by CNG are the IUCN Conference 2008, GRI conference and the C40 World Port Conference.
