MCI plays a significant role in the organization of COP 15
From December 7th to 18th, more than 12'000 NGOs, business and governmental leaders plus 5 000 journalists from more than 190 countries will descend on Copenhagen for a two week meeting to discuss and come to agreement on a new global climate treaty. The UN Climate Change Conference, COP15, is regarded as one of the most important meetings in the last 50 years. MCI is proud to be a key partner of COP15 by providing professional congress management support and sustainability consulting to the organizers, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. MPI Foundation announces ECOS Sustainability Project
Meeting Professionals International Foundation, in cooperation with AVW-TELAV Audio Visual Solutions, announces the beginnings of the Events for Communities of Sustainability (ECOS) Project, an in-depth, project-driven platform for enhancing sustainable meetings. The ECOS project, which will premiere in Canada this fall, is a framework to support sustainability in the meetings and business events industry.
This one-of-a-kind project will focus on four significant areas including: food, water, shelter and education. The program also supports MPI's commitment to the UN Global Compact and all eight Canadian chapters have voiced their commitment to participate in the program.

SustainableMeeting.org will be launched at the ICCA Conference
SustainableMeeting.org will be launched at the 48th ICCA Congress & Exhibition in Florence this weekend. The website provides a platform for discussion about the relation between corporate responsibility, green meetings and the commercial aspects of doing business in the event sector. It also offers eco-friendly solutions for organizing sustainable meetings. SustainableMeeting.org wants to invite all companies that do business in the sector of events, meetings, congresses and exhibitions to endorse the green initiative and to add their own solutions, remarks and questions to the public discussion.
